Cross-Cultural Training for Christian Professionals (Tentmakers)!
Tent makers’ Model … opening Missions up to the whole Body of Christ, not just Professional Missionaries.

“After this, he left from Athens and went to Corinth, where he found a Jewish man named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul came to them, and being of the same occupation, stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.”

A bit of history
NEMI was founded as a result of the vision of late Bill O’Donovan, an SIM missionary, who saw the need for the specialized training of Nigerian missionaries. While he was teaching in a Bible school he met many well-qualified Nigerian Christians with a strong sense of God’s call to be missionaries. They did not know where to get cross-cultural training without going to Britain or the United States. In 1982 nine missions formed the Nigeria Evangelical Missions Association (NEMA). Two years later, at the suggestion of O’Donovan they decided to organize a training school for Nigerian missionaries as a cooperative venture. NEMI operation commenced fully in 1986 and till date has been committed to cross-cultural training of prospective missionaries for frontier missions.
